Computer Requirements

Map3D has been written to operate in native mode under the Microsoft Windows API. All versions of Windows are supported including 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP. There are no special computer requirements.

Owing to the automated discretization and lumping built into the program, Map3D can accommodate up to 1,000,000 degrees of freedom. Larger models can be provided if required.

Analysis time and disk space requirements are problem dependant. Small problems (a few thousand elements) require only a few MB of disk space and run in a few minutes. 10000 element problems require a few hundred MB of disk space and may take an hour to run. Very large problems (100000 elements or more) may require several GB of disk space and take overnight to run.

Graphics export (BMP, PNG and animated GIF), DXF-AutoCAD import/export, digitizer support and Excel plotting functions are built in.
